6 Biggest College Hearsays Debunked

If someone were to tell you that you can get an automatic 4.0 GPA score if you jumped in a pool of sharks, would you believe it? Of course when we write that, we are indeed pulling your leg. College is challenging, but it doesn’t involve anything that would have you putting your life on the line for.

There are over thousands of rumors that anyone will feed in the minds of students. But while doing so, it is also creating a negative impact in them about ever stepping through the doors of college. If we are to create a positive future for our children, we need to put an end to these urban legends.

We hope that after debunking the following hearsays, we will have done the parents a huge favor.

Myth #1: Dining Hall food is gross

Having being accustomed to the cooking of our parents does make us hesitant to try out other dishes. But as soon as the time for college comes around, it takes a different spin on the minds of students. They are under the impression that it will taste bad. The truth is that it doesn’t have to be all bad at all.

Getting to try something new may have desirable or contrasting thoughts. In the end, you have to give things a chance before you judge them.

Myth #2: You are set for the first year

Saying this prior to joining the college, is about as hopeless as getting a 4.0 GPA on the fly. Many students, who start out, don’t really know what they want to do in the future. That’s okay, because college is the time where you take a deeper understanding of your interests and see where they reflect the most.

Once you are sure about what you want, you can then decide whether or not you want to switch between majors. Still, you can’t take assignments lightly and you would require seeking professionals because assignment service helps you in assignments.

Myth #3: All freshmen gain 15 pounds

This is only what you make of it. Those students who follow a particular diet plan would never succumb to this result. As long as you are observant of your eating, you will not, repeat, NOT gain 15 or more pounds.

Myth #4: Roommates are a nightmare

Every student’s experience is going to be different from the other. Some can be good and some bad. You could be sharing a room with someone who shares the same interests as you. The thing is that you never know what will come of it unless you give it a try.

Myth #5: A high ranking school is right for you

Just because a school ranks real high, doesn’t mean it is right for you. For all you know, it could be a school that doesn’t even consist of the program that you are gunning for. Research carefully before you decide to fill out the forms.

Myth #6: Finals week is torture

Apparently this does not apply to those who put their backs into their learning. Once you know the basics and have all the reference material you need, you have nothing to worry about for your finals.
