The new smartphone is launching this summer.
OnePlus has steadily risen as one of the top smartphone brands globally. What makes it equally interesting is that it managed to deliver a full performing top of the line device without the premium price being charged by its competitors.
Even with the recent release of the souped-up version of the OnePlus 3, the OnePlus 3T, the company is now preparing to launch its next flagship which we now know to be the OnePlus 5.
Early teasers have already pointed out to a various color schemes that will come with the new smartphone, including new colors not present on earlier versions. Along with that, the company has already confirmed that the smartphone will be utilizing the Snapdragon 835 processor which makes it a beast when it comes to performing tasks.
But despite the recent display trends that the recent LG G6 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 have evidently adopted, the OnePlus 5 will most likely still adapt to the same 16:9 aspect ratio just like its predecessors.
The OnePlus 5 will of course run on the company’s Oxygen OS which is a variation of Google’s Android operating system. What we like about the Oxygen OS is the near-stock feel of the interface, and with the OnePlus team always on standby to deliver bug fixes ASAP through regular software updates.
It was also revealed that OnePlus is also working with DxO which could mean that it is serious about making the OnePlus 5 one of the best smartphones for taking images. Considering that the recently announced HTC U 11 has gotten the top score and sits as the best smartphone camera available today, it is no surprise that there will be contenders ready to challenge it.
More will be revealed in the next few weeks as OnePlus continues to tease us with the final details for the OnePlus 5. For now, one can only hope and pray how the new smartphone will stack up with current flagships that are admittedly getting better every year.
